How Does "This" Light Therapy Compare to Others? hmmmm ... let's look!

Someone recently asked a question about the Red Light therapy I was using. She asked ... well instead of paraphrasing, let me copy and paste her question:
"Is this medical grade red light? My chiropractor (who has a red light therapy bed at her office) said all the studies that have been done on red light, have been done on medical grade and that getting something like the lumebox does nothing in comparison".
I put a couple thoughts on my story, but it really wanted to give her more information because it is a question I hear often... "how does this compare to ___" ? And of course hearing the words "medical grade", I couldn't NOT address that (is that a double negative? I don't know! and my spellchecker (aka my husband is busy) . So here we go!
The term “medical grade” gets used a lot, but what matters most is how the light is delivered—its spectrum, intensity, and the presence (or absence) of things like flicker or EMFs. The Glow Light isn’t classified as a medical device with the FDA, but it’s engineered to deliver the same therapeutic red and near-infrared wavelengths used in research. I personally do NOT put my trust in things that ARE classified with the FDA. That may sound odd, or shocking, but read the post linked below for a deeper understanding. Taking this rabbit trail will really clear up "safe and effective" or how what gets classified as FDA "worthy", not just for red light therapy, but any medical device, anything called "safe and effective, or anything that is FDA approved:
What does safe and effective even mean? Sounds great, but is it? (here's a clue: NO!)
A little insight into understanding medical studies
Most studies on red and near-infrared light therapy use devices that emit specific therapeutic wavelengths. The Glow Light uses an incandescent FireLight bulb to deliver a broad spectrum of red and near-infrared light, along with gentle heat—closely mimicking natural sunlight, but without harsh blue light or flicker. This makes it deeply restorative and more aligned with our biology. This is different from most LED panels, which often have narrow bands and can produce invisible flicker, potentially reducing effectiveness and comfort. You can read more about this comparison at SaunaSpace’s detailed overview: https://sauna.space/blogs/the-wavelength/firelight-vs-led-light-therapy. (and yes! She was correct, it does not even compare to the lumebox which does use LED technology to deliver red light and near-infrared light for therapy).
The first time I was exposed to Sauna Space light was back when I had a company out to my house testing EMF, dirty electricity, etc. The company brought a Sauna Space portable Glow Light to demonstrate clean, healthy, restorative light in comparison to lights common in many homes. Within seconds of using it, I told my husband, I can FEEL this inside. I don't know why, I don't know what it is, but my cells do and they love it! I went online and immediately bought one. Here's a blog from Sauna Space discussing "Why It Works, What It Does, and What Makes It So Uniquely Powerful" https://sauna.space/blogs/the-wavelength/firelight-spectrum-full-spectrum-infrared-guide
This picture below isn't me, haha, but my favorite time to use it is at night. It melts away tension and restore balance. The FireLight spectrum calms the nervous system, helping you unwind, regulate stress, and feel more at ease—mind and body. Adrenal glands love routine. Making this part of a routine helps with how your body handles stress, which helps with energy during the day and promotes restful, restorative sleep at night.

I thought my primary purpose would be to block EMF's from screen time at night but I realized the best prevention from that is not watching TV or using electronics at night. Glow is fully shielded to block electromagnetic fields (EMFs), so nothing gets in the way of your healing. From the stainless steel housing to the grounded design, every element minimizes stressors—so you can fully relax into the light.
I mainly use it at night. My husband, Tom, mainly uses it as part of his morning routine.

And even though, SaunaSpace panels are not classified as medical devices, they are 3rd party tested and engineered to match the light and heat qualities shown in research to support cellular health, recovery, and skin rejuvenation.
