Top Essential Items for Your Ultimate Wellness Kit

Hello! The cold season has officially arrived. It usually starts with the "back to school petri dish" and extends through the holidays.

This post is primarily about supplements to keep on hand for when you need them. However, over time, I've realized it's more than just "cold season." It's more like a response to the constant sugar intake as we transition from apple desserts to pumpkin-flavored everything, Halloween treats, Thanksgiving pumpkin and pecan pies, and then into December's Christmas goodies, culminating in an often overindulgent end of the year. But that's not the focus of this post, as many people reach out to me asking, "what should I do," and they're not looking for a lecture on what they shouldn't have done.

Being under the weather is NO FUN at all! But it is very cleansing. The body's response is a means to get rid of the pathogenic organism that is causing the illness, so let it do it’s thing … but support it!

I suggest having a "kit" for daily vitamins, pain, or wellness/immune system (nothing fancy needed. I seriously still use a leftover kleenex box that I duct taped for our wellness vitamins).

In our home, we start with a "loading dose" (high doses initially) in an effort to kick the illness to the curb. The sick individual should follow this regimen (along with Rachael's Remedy) multiple times a day (3-5 times) at increased doses. I've compiled a list of what we use in our household and added it to FullScript. If you aren't registered with FullScript yet, you'll need to do so to access the vitamins I'm recommending. Note: the dosages in the instructions are higher than those on the bottle because the bottle provides a "maintenance dose," and if you're ill, you likely need more. Others in the house can follow the regimen at least once daily as a preventive measure.

You may or may not need all of the vitamins that I've included. You might already have some of them. I realize it can be expensive to buy everything at once. I compare it to moving in to a house and having to stock all of your kitchen cabinets and cupboard with "the essentials" ... salt, pepper, mayo, ketchup, mustard, BBQ sauce, rosemary, thyme, garlic ... you get it, it adds up. But once it's stocked, then you're just replacing things you need, and that's much more doable.

When our kids moved away from home, we bought them a "wellness kit" as a going away gift to help stock their essentials because we care about their wellness (Yep, I wrote that on their box!)

Here are a few other things we do:

Sip on teas or Apple Cider Vinegar or Fire Cider. One of my favorite teas is Throat Coat (not sold on Fullscript, but plenty other ones are)

Spoon of raw local honey

Elderberry Syrup

Honey Fermented Garlic

Massage

Epson Salt bath

Infrared sauna

Ionized foot bath

Having these essential items readily available on hand significantly enhances their effectiveness when you need them most. By ensuring that you are well-stocked with the necessary supplies, you eliminate the stress and confusion that can arise when you are feeling unwell. In moments of illness, the last thing you want is to scramble through cabinets or stores, trying to decipher what you need while grappling with discomfort or fatigue. Instead, having a well-organized collection of remedies, over-the-counter medications, and health supplies allows you to quickly and efficiently address your symptoms. This proactive approach not only saves you time but also minimizes the potential for your condition to worsen.

Moreover, addressing health issues promptly is crucial. The sooner you take action, the greater the likelihood that you can prevent a minor ailment from escalating into a more serious, full-blown illness. Early intervention can make all the difference; it can help to mitigate symptoms, reduce recovery time, and ultimately lead to a better outcome. When you are prepared with the right tools and knowledge at your disposal, you empower yourself to respond effectively to health challenges as they arise. This preparedness fosters a sense of control over your health, allowing you to prioritize your well-being without unnecessary delays or complications. Therefore, maintaining a well-stocked supply of health essentials is not just a matter of convenience; it is a vital strategy for promoting resilience and ensuring that you can navigate health issues with confidence and ease.

We frequently tackle issues as soon as they appear. Many times, we might wonder, "Is that a sore throat?" and simply apply some Rachael's Remedy to halt it immediately.

Hope this post helped you (and your loved ones). Stay well (and say away from sugar! xoxo)
